About the Art is Her exhibition series – The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women’s right to vote. The passage is the largest expansion of democracy in U.S. history. Throughout 2020 and 2021, Art is Her celebrates women artists and explores the relevance of equal rights in art today.

Stats to think about:

  • A recent data survey of the permanent collections of 18 prominent art museums in the U.S. found that out of over 10,000 artists, 87% are male, and 85% are white. —Public Library of Science 2019
  • In a study of 820,000 exhibitions across the public and commercial sectors in 2018, only one third were by women artists. —The Art Newspaper 2019
  • Only 13.7% of living artists represented by galleries in Europe and North America are women. —artnet News

Made to Order

Now – December 31, 2020

Commissioned Painting

I am happy to partner with the Trout Museum of Art for this amazing exhibition. TMA is teaming up artists and buyers to raise money for the museum, to create custom artworks, and then have a large gala “Made to Order” exhibition this fall. If interested in commissioning me to create a custom painting for your home, office, or business, please contact the Trout Museum of Art at “Made to Order” or send me a message on my contact form.

The Trout Museum of Art is proud to present “Made to Order,” a match-making program for art buyers and artists, designed to support artists and introduce art buying to those that are curious. During these difficult times, you can help create a base of support for artists and encourage direct investment in TMA and the arts community in the Fox Cities.

TMA arranges commissions between buyers interested in purchasing art and artists who create incredible works of art. These works can range from $100 to $10,000! If you’re interested in learning more, browse the artists and fill out the Made to Order interest form below. If you don’t see exactly what you want, that’s okay. Fill out the Made to Order interest form anyway and tell us what artwork you’re looking for and we will help you find the right artist.

Made to Order is part of TMA’s goal to cultivate the very important part of our community that artists need in order to thrive, art buyers. TMA wants to encourage the idea of purchasing contemporary art. Artists, as all of us, cannot live on exposure alone. Artists need a community who knows, supports, and values what they do.

TMA’s goal is to raise $80,000-$100,000—half of which goes directly into the hands of artists, with the other half going to support TMA’s programming. All of this results in an exhibition of the original works of art, an online catalog documenting the work, and an Artist Gala on Friday, August 28, 2020 to unveil the finished pieces. Artworks will make their way to the buyers’ homes following the exhibition. Artworks that are still in progress will be featured online.
